I secretly call the car ‘Chad’, short for Nebuchadnezzar

matrixOk, before I go into the backstory for this one, I’ve got a big announcement to make.

Since I am no longer working full time, for the time being anyways, I have more time to devote to comics. And so, starting immediately, Moosehead Stew will run 5 days a week! So check back tomorrow for more comics!!

* * *

Ok, backstory time. This strip has actually been written for several months. We got our new car back in January, after my old car finally gave up the ghost. (Hence, why we’re both wearing winter-ish clothes) And not only did we throw on our long black coats and sunglasses for our first ride in the new car, we also dug out a copy of our Matrix soundtrack. The only thing that would have made that first drive any better is if it a) wasn’t the dead of winter, and b) if we weren’t driving on Edmonton roads, with Edmonton drivers. But that, my friends, is a rant for another time…

    Gotta admire the effort. I may be to old to totally appreciate this strip. (I can remember when kitty pride was a new mutant if that means anything) But I love the strip and what it brings. Thank you & much success at doing what you love for a living. I hope I can help.

    Edmonton drivers are the WORST! AUGH! Which is why I *loved* the LRT. Of course, the LRT helped me get kicked out of uni. lol I used to live by the Stadium Station on 82nd, and I’d get on there, and half the time, I’d end up jumping off downtown at Churchill and spend the day at the mall. lol Ah good times.

    But, man, those drivers out there! SCARY! Lane divers EVERYWHERE! *shudder*

    Hmm. big car… (i happen to be one of those whacky sustainability fans…).
    and i´m oldschool too, because what comes to my mind with a new black car is: “It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we’ve got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark, and we’re wearing sunglasses” 🙂
